The inaugural African MRO Conference, convened by the African Airlines Association (AFRAA) in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, from March 29–31, 2026, provided a landmark platform for Aerojet Aviation to present the Accra MRO Project to regional and international aviation stakeholders.

Hosted by Ethiopian Airlines at the Ethiopian Skylight complex, the conference brought together over 450 delegates representing 41 African airlines, manufacturers, regulators, and service providers from across the continent and beyond. Aerojet Aviation showcased development progress, strategic partnerships, and the vision for establishing Accra International Airport as the sub-region's premier maintenance hub.

Industry Recognition

Conference attendees recognised the project's strategic alignment with continental goals to localise maintenance services. The conference highlighted the critical nature of African MRO development, noting that Nigerian aviation alone experiences approximately $200 million in annual capital flight to foreign maintenance providers.

The Accra MRO Project was acknowledged as one of the most advanced MRO development initiatives in West Africa, with its combination of institutional backing, a growing training pipeline, and technical validation from globally recognised aviation organisations.
