Training Begins While Infrastructure Develops
Q1 2023 — Temporary Aviation Training Facility opens at ATTC, Kokomlemle
Developed in partnership with GAPTEK
In Q1 2023, the Aerojet Aviation Training Academy opened its new Temporary Aviation Training Facility at the Small Engines Department, Accra Technical Training Centre (ATTC), Kokomlemle, Accra. This facility, developed in partnership with GAPTEK, a leading provider of modular construction and infrastructure solutions, enables the Academy's first cohort of African technicians to begin EASA Part-66 training immediately — ahead of the permanent MRO and training centre completion.
"GAPTEK has partnered with Aerojet Aviation on the construction of its new Temporary Aviation Training Facility in Ghana. The facility, which is part of the larger Accra MRO Project, will allow the first batch of African Technicians to begin training in Q1 2023 ahead of the completion of the permanent MRO and training centre."

Facility Features
Despite being a temporary installation, the ATTC Kokomlemle facility is equipped to deliver world-class training:
- State-of-the-art workshop facilities with modern diagnostic equipment
- Advanced AI and intelligent maintenance solutions infrastructure
- Classroom and practical training spaces designed to EASA Part 147 standards
- Capacity for initial student cohorts to begin the four-year EASA B1-certified programme
Forward-Looking Development
The permanent training facility, to be constructed at Accra International Airport (formerly Kotoka International Airport) alongside the MRO hangar complex, will provide substantially expanded capacity. The temporary facility ensures that talent development begins without delay, creating a pipeline of qualified engineers ready to support MRO operations once the permanent facility becomes operational.
This approach — training talent while infrastructure develops — demonstrates Aerojet Aviation's commitment to building the human capital foundation that will make the Accra MRO Project successful from day one of operations.
